Privacy Statement
Bromley Law Group - Effective October 1, 2026
This statement explains what personal information we collect when you complete our estate planning questionnaire or otherwise work with us, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
When you complete our online questionnaire, we ask for:
- your name (and your spouse's), date of birth, home address, telephone number and email address;
- citizenship, marital status, and the names and dates of birth of your children;
- the people you would like to serve as trustees, executors, guardians and health care or financial agents; and
- your wishes for how your estate should be distributed.
We may also receive copies of deeds and other documents you send us.
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank or account numbers, or medical information in the questionnaire. Please do not include them.
How we use it
We use your information only to prepare your estate plan and related documents (such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney and deeds), to communicate with you about your matter, and to meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your information is available only to the attorneys and staff of our office who work on your matter. We use trusted service providers to collect and store it: Microsoft (for the questionnaire and our document storage) and Google (for email). They process it on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. Documents that are recorded with a county recorder, such as deeds, become public records.
How we protect it
The questionnaire is submitted over an encrypted connection. Your responses are kept in our firm's secure Microsoft 365 account, where access is limited to our office. Once your responses are saved to your client file, we delete them from the questionnaire system.
Confidentiality
We treat the information you give us as confidential, consistent with our duties as attorneys. Submitting the questionnaire does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship; that relationship begins when we agree to represent you.
How long we keep it
We keep your client file for as long as we represent you and afterward as required by law and the rules of professional conduct. If you do not become a client, we delete your questionnaire responses within a reasonable time.
Your choices
You may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal obligations to keep certain records. You may leave any questionnaire question blank that is not marked as required.
Children
Our questionnaire asks clients for information about their children for estate planning purposes. Our website and questionnaire are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this statement from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
